when I get out of work to get started on learning how to knit! Anyone know how? Or have any idea what materials I should pick up?

most certainly! pick up the klutz knitting book/kit - it’s what i learned with. klutz forever, yo. that company taught me how to do so many random things as a child. the book comes with size 8 wooden needles. you may want to grab your own pair - i prefer metal ones but the clicking drives some people nuts. wood isn’t bad, and plastic i find to have way too much friction. pick up some nice thick/chunky yarn you like and the label will tell you what size needles you need.

word to the wise: stay away from fun fur/elaborate yarns in the beginning because you can’t see shit, captain.

(and bring your stuff on thursday! i’ll bring some needles/yarn/a project and will teach you anything you haven’t figured out by then.)
