i am literally less than 30 minutes into wearing a tank top (sans sweater) for the first time this year, when some random guy in a bodega tries to convince me to let him “take me home”, whatever the fuck that means- considering i live three buildings away. HE FOLLOWED ME OUT OF THE STORE AND KEPT TALKING. (i would also like to state for the record that nothing even similar to this has happened since moving here)

seriously, guys, boys, men, whatever, stop this shit. this is why i freak out in levels relative to how much skin is showing, why i wear long sleeves in the summer and why i absolutely do not wear mini skirts.

it was HOT okay? i put my sweater in my bag because i was sweating balls. isn’t that sexy?

i have to quietly force people to acknowledge me as a person with ideas and words vs. my body shape or size or what-the-fuck-ever you guys get so stupid about.

when i’m in long sleeves or jeans and a tshirt, i am treated (generally) like a normal human being. but holy shit, GOD FORBID you can see the outline of my breasts, it’s like i cease to become a person.

additionally, just because a woman is in a tank top does not mean she’s single. guys can have pit stains, girls can’t. that’s the way it is and that’s why we have to buy fucking tank tops and i have to deal with making sure everything is all tucked in properly 20 times a day.
