crochet hip bag

i have been crocheting immense amounts of things, possibly related to the fact that i stayed in all weekend. photos eventually coming of: lap blanket, messenger bag with many pockets and a larger hip bag with an arcade edge on the flap. i need to find out where i can get really large lobster claws… like the kind they use on purses. currently using carabiners (which work surprisingly well)

anyway, here’s the bag:

it holds phone + headphones or cigarettes + lighter, and a metrocard or some cash. this one has a two button closure and flower appliques. both of the hip bags i’ve made also have a belt loop:

this is the first day i’ve tried using it and so far the verdict is: pretty awesome, the small size sits nicely even when full. the double buttons may eventually get annoying.

next up: cell phone pouch that will button/fasten around the strap of a messenger bag, with metrocard pocket.
