ladies and gentlemen, how do you feel about this?
nostrich: the majority of popular girls on the internet are popular only because they are girls
nostrich: that is a fact
this is nostrich’s theory. i wholeheartedly feel that this is a huge load of bullshit.
edit/more thoughts: what about popular female sellers on etsy? and popular posters of the craftster.org forum? and women who don’t blog but have a strong online presence? and what about all the ladies who are popular with a heavy female audience? and what about well established professional women with an online presence? (think: paula scher and the like)
what are you thoughts?

if that is at all true, i think it’s more to do with girls reading another girl’s blog and liking it because they share interests.

Only when girls inhabit and succeed in a male domain are they worshiped.

ive been on message boards, (mostly guy ones like football and stuff) and the women there dont show pictures but are usually kinda worhsipped

There’s no evidence of that and until their is it’s just a sexist thing to say. There are a lotta girls on the net and most aren’t popular.

antiquarylady answered:
If this theory were correct, then all girls on the internet would be popular, which is obviously not true.

fwarg answered:
I think it’s more apparent on youtube, ijustine, hotforwords even lisa nova. panacea81 and glowpinkstah are interesting counter examples

i agree with the theory for at least 50% of popular women on the internet.

brilliantology answered:
Depends on the definition of popular here, but interesting people are popular because they’re interesting, other maybe because they put out!
