these dots. i thought they were a mistake when i was coding up the site from this PSD… yanno like ‘oh what the heck are these doing here?’
turns out that they were intentional. and the guy who mocked it up was pretty distressed that they weren’t there. why are they there? no one will ever know.
but they are making my life PNG hell right now in IE6.

good suggestion, but cannot do. it needs the 40% opacity. this guy is a word that means more anal than anal

thank for the suggestions implodr and ragdoll. i will certainly be trying out that sleight.js (beats the one i’m using that requires height & width specification)the transparency has been fine, but i’m getting strange stretching errors and positioning errors because these dots relate to nothing else in the document.
update: after giving my boss an update on the dot situation, with many a swear word… he said that they can live without the dots. i can now move on with the site. (that makes me both happy and not at the same time)
