an-alexandria-deactivated201101 asked: You do fonts correct? I had the craziest idea to make my finace's mothers handwriting into font and my own mothers. How long would that take? Just theoretically.
i don’t make fonts, but i do have an answer to your question! good fonts are both designed and programmed. they require immense amounts of forethought and effort, as all possible character relationships have to be considered. the stuff i do is technically just a drawing or graphic.
but back to your question, you have a couple web-based options for the handwriting font. one is fontifier, and the other is yourfonts. i don’t know personally how one differs from the other, but they’re both about 10 bucks.
you print out their template, write your letters and send it back. they do the hard stuff. i’d suggest being mindful of your writing angle though, keep ‘em either all straight or all slanted. i’m really curious how well they work. might try one this week…
