strange things in the city

so this morning, my train was more empty than usual. there were a LOT more rifles than usual around penn station (which is terrifying, btw) and more police officers.

on my way home, there were policewomen demanding to see the tickets of people sitting down in the nj transit lobby. what the fuck? i have never seen that happen, ever. there were two of them, and they weren’t really asking nicely. they inspected train passes very closely.

what if you were waiting for someone to get off the train? what if you just missed a train and were trying to pick the next one before getting a ticket? what kind of shit is this?

is something bad supposed to happen today that i don’t know about?
