brandonadkins-deactivated201103 asked: Sorry. One other comment that wouldn't fit with the other (reply/answer) ones I left. Ever since I uninstalled and reinstalled applications, which fixed the problem, I've been able to apply updates ever since, so I don't think you have to worry about doing the uninstall/reinstall for every update. I think after you've done it once, the problem should go away for good, which obviously isn't 100% sure, but from experience I can say that I've updated multiple apps multiple times ever since then without issue.
I completely agree though, that 1) it could have been handled better by Apple in the first place and 2) their customer support is extremely lacking in this situation and it's not helping whatsoever.
ahhh ok, i see what you mean. that would be wonderful. thanks very much! [this is re: mac app store issue]
from brandon’s original reply, for anyone experiencing the same:
The fix for me was to backup/delete any applications that refuse to update (just try one, it may fix it) & reinstall them from the app store. It appears the uninstall/reinstall is the only way to fix it. However, doing that for 1 program may fix it for all. ALSO - If you need to backup program data, use backup functions in the programs or find where the offending app stores data on the mac…
and travors added:
I had this issue because I had accidentally created two store IDs: travors & [same]@gmail.com but I’d forgotten I’d made the travors one.
