21st Century Women

This post is a little late on the gender-war thing, but I had something to say and I’d rather take the time to fully investigate my ideas before I publish them.

About a week ago, a blog surfaced that meant to mock the stereotypical content of the leading female tumblelog, Tumblinas. The males who are kissing ass right now all over the place were most certainly joining in the mean fun.

This is a brief history of the events that transpired:

man blog: we are funny. look at all of our stereotypical posts and things. also, let’s lol at the ladies because they are always lol’ing at us.
(everyone lols)

female blog: we are offended at something you put on the internet.
man blog: wow, we should have never made jokes or put anything offensive up here! also, we have crushes on all you internet gals, even though we make fun of the stupid shit that you post about. now we are going to kiss your ass so that you don’t think we really make fun of you that much (even though we do)

This is sad. Last time I checked, taking internet humor to the heart and getting offended was often met with even more offensive ridicule. Also, girls- the boys might make less stereotypical female jokes if you guys didn’t completely and accurately fulfill those stereotypes. Favorite celebrity crushes? Save it for sleepovers.

It’s the 21st century ladies, show the men what you’re made of! Using your body or being manipulative to get what you want isn’t anything to brag about, it only states that you were incapable of earning someone’s respect.
