cool jewelry on the cheap:
get some colorful acrylic rings from a quarter machine or at some shop where they are less than a dollar.
get some 3D paint pens and go nuts! make sure to allow for sufficient drying time.
when you get bored of it, remove the puff and make something new!
puff paint vs. puff pens: the first time i did this, i used rubbery puff paint. it was significantly raised (i.e. sufficient puffing) and pretty easy to work with. the only difficult thing was getting a consistent puff level. for the image shown above, i used sakura souffle pens. they don’t really puff all that much, but they dry evenly and opaque! they are also slightly easier to manage if doing dot patterns, but not so good for detailed stuff (stars, hearts etc)
if you mess up or want to change the design:
with the souffle pens: wet a napkin, it will wipe right off. if it’s already dry, use an xacto, razor blade or your fingernail.
with rubber puff paint: use an xacto, razor blade or your fingernail to scrape it off.
