the grayed out bubble is a link to the only other available page. the bolder image with depth is not clickable, it is only an indicator. these screenshots were taking from the desktop app store.
highlighting the active page is awesome, but don’t go overboard. save the awesome for the actual links. (and puff ‘em up, trying to click on minuscule numbers is irritating. use invisible padding at the very least to increase the clickable area. not sure if this applies to desktop, but it works with CSS.)
