Windows vs. Mac

All I ever read and hear is that one is ultimately better than the other. This post itself is a very incomplete thought- but there are two points in particular I’d like to raise that have been bugging me for some time.

If you have a good understanding of computers, you can probably fix your own problems. That said, you can handle Windows. I make it work for me just fine, in fact- so well that I’d dare say aloud that “I prefer PC to Mac”. (I get flamed constantly as a designer for this, however- I don’t particularly care.)

Another thing I have noticed while using my iBook and Mac Mini at work is that when there *is* a problem on a Mac (and trust me, they pop up.) It’s even harder to diagnose/fix because Apple covers everything up with a big, cloudy layer of ‘pretty’. You either have to know what’s working under the hood (tap into that command line) or hope there is an easy fix already posted on the internet.

I love my iBook, I love my PC and I love working on both operating systems for different reasons. Why can’t we all just get along?
