the thorny thing: part one

the scared and scary thorny thing
that will not let you into me,
and will not miss you when you leave,
may hold the final word, and then-
will wander back with one less piece,
sad and proud, while laughing to itself,
alone and quietly

this has existed for a while. i have been working on other parts. the tempo is meant to be moderately fast and then slower towards the end.

i’ve also been trying to work on removing censors in me when i make things like this. those mechanisms of you that hide the ugly so seamlessly you’d never even know unless you were looking for it. essentially, the things that keep you from constantly exposing the stranger, darker creature you really are.
