diy arm rest padding (and height adjustment)

the bulk of each side is a cheap hand towel folded to the size of the arm rest. it’s secured with a piece of cotton scrap fabric stretched on top and tied underneath. apparently, this gives it a really nice shape too.

folding up a washrag/soft thing and smashing it underneath will help make it stay in place.

and towels trump those gel-rest things in softness. however, the gel things are good at not sliding around, so i made good use of mine by jamming it under the right arm’s padding.

update: the fabric is knotted twice directly underneath the puff, and once again behind the armrest. using the back of the armrest turned out to be a crappy idea, they eventually slid right off. better idea: knot twice under puff, bring ends up behind puff and knot twice there. they’ll probably smash into your desk, and seem to handle that much better.
