“we are so awesome, there are no words.”
– context: kat and i were talking about “the look” that we’ve gotten from past boyfriends, friends etc when eating our standard taco bell fare. it’s sort of a mix of shock, slight adoration (in some of the boyfriends’ cases) and disgust. basically, we combine the...

“Just keep in mind that every choice you make during the holiday season and...”
– this terrifying post was found via lumber nik’s official tip for thanksgiving: eat whatever the fuck you want and enjoy it. and be damn thankful for it. this ‘nutritionista’ person suggests leaving the table immediately after you finish eating so that you’re not tempted to...

new jersey and new york
it’s kinda weird to spend your time in a place where people tell you how much they hate the place you came from, the same place that sort of helped shape who you are.

chrisgash.com is live!
last night i launched something i’ve been working on for quite a while, and am very proud of. i proudly present, chris gash, illustrator: the site is run by a heavily tweaked wordpress, which allows him to have a traditional blog for process work and other thoughts, as well as an easy way to post updates to the homepage of his site. (notifications of new work, relevant blog posts etc) ...

a long rant about dell customer service →
someone wrote up a long sob story about customer service difficulty. yeah, that experience must have sucked, but consider what this guy says in the comments: Congratulations - you just got someone fired during the recession by slating Dell’s customer service on the basis of your interaction with this individual. Wake up to your responsibilities here on boing boing’s frontpage -...

validation isn't everything
so, you’re coding up a site. you’ve done this before, you know to append alternate text to images that you include in your markup. but i must ask- are you doing it so that your code will validate/meet some unofficial set of standards or are you considering each and every image as it might be encountered in a screen reader? sometimes images should not have alt text. i know, i know!...

mnmal.tumblr.com →
gtmcknight: A lovely blog on minimalism and simplicity i think what he means to say is “a lovely blog about mac and the mac inspired aesthetic” because that’s all i’m seeing here. i wonder if people are aware that there is more to the concept of ‘minimalism’ other than things that are white and glossy?

the typedia logo design process →
this is such a good read! includes lots of sketches and email correspondence. [in contrast to type design] the letters in a logotype can be designed to fit the specific relationships of the letters surrounding it, and a logo must exhibit some degree of distinctiveness in order to do its job well. — john langdon
